PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Happy Tuesday!

It’s a beautiful day in the Portland metro. Keep an eye on Good Day Oregon for stunning bird’s-eye views of the cherry blossoms in bloom!

Now, let’s catch up.

Columbia River Mental Health Services announced that it would be pausing services in Vancouver, Hazel Dell, and Battle Ground. Services affected include their Adult and Child Outpatient, Health Homes, Psychiatry, GAP Medicine, and Case Management programs. There is currently no timeline for reopening, and current patients are urged to coordinate replacement care immediately.

Yesterday, a Hillsboro police investigation culminated in an hours-long standoff at a Beaverton hotel. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted with tactical negotiations, and tells us that the suspect was safely taken into custody around 8 p.m.

Portland police are searching for the suspects involved in two early morning dispensary break-ins. Officers responded to the first break-in around 3 a.m. on Monday, and tell us that they found signs of forced entry and missing product at a SE Portland shop. The second burglary occurred shortly after 4 a.m. in northeast Portland; one of the store’s managers tells us that the suspects made way with “thousands of dollars worth” of product after driving a box truck through the dispensary’s front gate and into the store.

The North Portland shop owner recently arrested for drug charges has been released, and neighbors tell us that they’re worried about a “rebound” in illegal behavior in the area now that his store has reopened for business. Just two days ago, Portland police told us that they had made 26 arrests in the area – resulting in 100 criminal charges, and the servicing of 16 outstanding warrants.

One man is facing 30 charges across two counties that range from felony assault to sex trafficking. Although the 26-year-old is currently in custody, the investigation continues. Detectives believe that he likely has additional victims, and are asking anyone with information to reach out to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

What happens to your DNA after you submit it for genotyping (or ancestry results)? Well, for users of biotech giant 23andMe, that’s currently unclear. The San Francisco-based company just declared bankruptcy, and will likely be sold to the highest bidder. Amidst the uncertainty, Oregon’s Attorney General is urging anyone who’s utilized the company’s services to delete their genetic data, request that their test sample be destroyed, and revoke permissions for their genetic data to be used for research.

If you’ve been following the case of the missing Martin family, you probably already know that crews were only able to recover part of a car that officials think may have belonged to them. Despite authorities believing the car be a match, they were unable to locate the car’s VIN, and say that without it, they are not able to officially confirm that the car is theirs. The latest update we were given is similarly dispiriting – due to the heavy sediment present, which has compounded the vehicle’s deteriorating condition, the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office has decided to suspend further recovery efforts.

Finally, if you’ve ever found yourself frustrated by obfuscated prices at a gas station (and there’s one in particular that’s caught a lot of flak), you’re not alone. A representative from Woodburn has introduced the Gas Price Transparency Act, which would require gas station owners to display their prices, in the hopes of increasing transparency. The bill is currently in House Committee, and its members plan to meet and work on it next week.

That’s all for today! Thank you so much for reading (and watching). You can find all the latest from us on the FOX 12 app.
